Job Purpose
The Driver will be responsible for operating designated vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring the timely delivery of goods and/or passengers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe driving, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive various types of vehicles, including trucks and vans.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Arrange for vehicle maintenance and routine inspection as needed
- Plan and allocate designated routes, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.
- Use navigation tools and devices to determine the best routes.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients, customers and colleagues
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols at all times.
- Ensure that all vehicles are in compliance with all safety regulations.
- Report any delays, issues, accidents, injuries, or vehicle damage immediately.
- Keep accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information.
- Ensure that the vehicle has enough fuel at all times and fueling done within the stipulated time.
- Complete delivery/pickup documentation as required.
- Maintain open and effective communication with the logistics team or dispatch.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a professional driver.
- Valid Kenyan driver's license with a clean driving record.
- KCSE Certificate
- Certificate of good conduct.
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items if required.
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.
