Production Supervisor
JOB TITLE: Production Supervisor (Apparel Manufacturing)
LOCATION: Nairobi
REPORT TO: Head of Production

Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to supervise and lead the production floor to ensure the efficient production of high-quality garments while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning and Managing Production:
- Set clear daily, weekly, and monthly goals and ensure everyone is aligned.
- Develop detailed production schedules to meet targets on time.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members to maximize productivity.
- Monitor the workflow, tackle any roadblocks, and keep things on track.
2. Maintaining Quality Standards:
- Ensure every product meets our high-quality standards through regular checks.
- Review output against specifications and quickly resolve any issues.
- Implement improvements to avoid recurring problems and enhance processes.
3. Managing Machines and Equipment:
- Allocate machines and resources based on garment styles and production needs.
- Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment is in top condition.
- Promote the safe use of machinery and organize routine maintenance schedules.
- Recommend equipment upgrades to boost efficiency and performance.
4. Leading the Production Team:
- Supervise and motivate a skilled team of operators, cutters, and pressers.
- Train new employees to use machines safely and efficiently.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and regular feedback to help your team excel.
- Foster a positive and supportive workplace culture where concerns are heard and addressed.
- Hold regular team check-ins and meetings to keep communication open.
5. Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare reports on production performance, efficiency, and quality metrics.
- Submit updates on progress and highlight areas for improvement.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety guidelines and company standards.
- Collaborate with other teams, including design, quality assurance, and warehouse, to maintain smooth operations.
Key Skills
- In-depth knowledge of garment manufacturing processes such as cutting, sewing, finishing, and quality control.
- A proven ability to manage teams and achieve production goals consistently.
- Familiarity with garment production tools and software.
- Solid understanding of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in garment production, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- A diploma or degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in production management or quality control are a bonus.
