Keep everything else clean and considered, understated jewellery, a smart bag, shoes that mean business. This is not the event for your most experimental look. Save that energy for the weekend and let your professional self have her moment.

The "What Even Is This Event" Invitation 

You know the one. "Come through on Saturday." No venue. No dress code. No further information. Just vibes and anxiety. For these situations, a wrap dress or a midi in a versatile silhouette is genuinely your best friend. It reads formal enough if the occasion turns out to be fancy, and relaxed enough if everyone else shows up in jeans. Bring a flat shoe in your bag just in case, choose a bag big enough for the essentials, and walk in with confidence. Confidence always finishes an outfit.

A Few Things Worth Remembering

Please try it on before the day. Not the morning of at least two days before. You need time to discover that the zip is awkward, the shoes need breaking in, or that the necklace you planned to wear actually clashes with the neckline. Give yourself that time.

Comfort is not optional. If you cannot eat, move, dance, or breathe properly in it it’s not the right outfit. No look is worth four hours of discomfort. Choose something that lets you actually enjoy yourself.
