Sharon Mundia, CEO and author of the award-winning blog This Is Ess, partners with Kenya's most loved brands, such as ourselves, to design quality essentials for your closets and homes.Our very own Wandia Gichuru describes Sharon as one of the smartest, hardest-working, most creative, and most gorgeous (inside and out) individuals she knows. Now that’s some serious praise!

This Is Essential is all about providing women with everyday basics that feel like home and pair perfectly with everything in their wardrobe. This female-founded brand is dedicated to building a community where women feel empowered to be confident in their bodies and style, taking up space unapologetically. Launched by Sharon after 10+ years in the industry as a digital content creator, the brand reflects her passion for simplicity, comfort, and classic silhouettes.

Months in the making, our collaboration with This Is Essential finally came to life. The collection launched officially on December 1, 2023, and it's packed with must-have pieces that promise to boost your confidence and elevate your style. From bodysuits to unitards, each piece is crafted with care and designed to be your go-to wardrobe staple.

The bodysuits come in a variety of styles and neckline styles such as the Boat Neck Bodysuit, The Short Sleeve Crew Neck Bodysuit, the Spaghetti Strap Bodysuit, the Long Sleeve V-neck bodysuit and the Scoop Neck Bodysuit. And let's not forget our show-stopping unitards! Initially created in a classic black colour, our Vivo X This is essential unitards were created to accentuate your curves while providing the support you need. Whether for everyday wear or special occasions, it’s your new wardrobe superhero. The unitards come in two lengths. The Short unitard featuring a form-fitting silhouette that adds a touch of flair and the long unitard which is versatile and perfect for layering or wearing solo, making it a staple.

This collection has gone on to become one of our best-selling lines, flying off the shelves time and time again, with inquiries and preorders pouring in. And as if that wasn't exciting enough, we just launched our unitards in a stunning new navy blue color!
